Logic prevailed in Tuesday's Ligue A quarter-final first leg, with Nantes and Levallois comfortably beating Marcq-en-Baroeul (3-0) and Terville Florange (3-1).
No surprises. In the first leg of the Ligue A quarter-finals on Tuesday, the favourites came out on top in the first match of the final stages. Solid leaders at the end of the regular season, Nantes quickly crushed Marcq-en-Baroeul, three sets to nil (25-14, 25-23, 25-14), with Jaelyn Keene (15 points) and Amélie Rotar (11 points, 1 block).
Second-placed Levallois needed four sets to topple Terville Florange (25-18, 18-25, 25-22, 25-19), thanks to the duo of Bianca Cugno (18 points) and Candelaria Herrera (16 points and 4 blocks).
It took five sets to separate the other two matches. Christelle Tchoudjang Nana's Mulhouse (23 points) dominated Béziers (25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12) despite a fine evening performance from Julia Szczurowska (22 points and 3 blocks). Le Cannet lost to Vandoeuvre Nancy (25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-9), who could count on Katelyn Evans (22 points and 8 blocks).
