Passionate about volleyball, Jean-Paul ALORO devoted his entire life to the sport, as a player (Tunisia, Marseille, RC France), coach (Colombes, RC France), club general manager (Villebon, La Rochette), international referee, Vice-President of the Ile de France League, member of the Board of the French Volleyball Federation, President of the French National Volleyball League from 1994 to 1996 and from 2008 to 2016. Since the end of his mandate at the head of the LNV, he had put his experience at the service of professional volleyball as President of the Union des Clubs Professionnels de Volley-Ball (Union of Professional Volleyball Clubs) and, in this capacity, was an assiduous member of the LNV Board of Directors.
In September 2024, he was awarded the Insigne de Chevalier dans l'ordre national du Mérite for his commitment to the cause of French volleyball.
