The team: Mulhouse defeated by Levallois-Paris, which retains first place in League A

The top-of-the-table clash on the seventh day of Ligue A saw Levallois-Paris-Saint-Cloud inflict Mulhouse's first defeat of the season, winning 2-3 in a tiebreak. The Parisian side remain top of the league, ahead of Mulhouse.

Four days after their first victory in the CEV Cup (first leg of the round of 32, 3-0 in Herceg Novi, North Macedonia), Levallois-Paris-Saint-Cloud won in a tiebreak in Mulhouse (25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 18-25, 3-15), which recorded its first defeat of the season in the Championship, after the one inflicted by Istanbul in the Champions League on Tuesday (3-0).

After struggling in the first set, Mulhouse seemed to be heading for an easy victory. But that was without counting on the fighting spirit of the Parisian team, who managed to outplay the Alsatians for two sets, forcing them into a tiebreak. Levallois-Paris took control of the decisive set (9-1 to start, 15-3 in the end). Argentinian spiker Bianca Cugno, named player of the match, scored 22 points (20/47 in attack, 1 ace, 1 block).

Levallois-Paris therefore remains at the top of the league, ahead of Mulhouse (with one game in hand) and Vandoeuvre-Nancy, who won 3-1 at Marcq-en-Baroeul (15-25, 14-25, 25-20, 21-25). The Lorraine team relied heavily on American spiker Haylie Bennett (23 points, 1 ace, 6 blocks, 46% attack efficiency) and scored 13 aces.
